Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation in Industry


The Ministry of Industry,Commerce and Consumer Protection jointly with then Ministry of Public Utilities and Renewable Energy and in collaboration with the UNDP/GEF/SIDSDOCK implemented a capacity building project for manufacturing companies and public sector professionals from November 2012 to July 2013 .

The broad objective of the project was to foster a culture of Energy Efficiency and energy saving practices among industries.

Mauritius Industrial Energy Saving Assessment Tool (Version 1.06)


The software (Mauritius Industrial Energy Saving Assessment Tool) has been developed by SKM Enviros and BRE on behalf of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Consumer Protection, of the Republic of Mauritius. It is intended to be used by qualified persons who are capable of undertaking energy audits of industrial energy systems and processes for audit purposes for estimating possible energy savings potential in industrial applications and for the recording of energy saving opportunities. It has been designed and customized for local climatic conditions and intended and recommended for use only in the Republic of Mauritius only for the purposes specified in the software manual.
The software does not replace or intends to replace any other application software which the user has or proposes to use. It has been tested free of known viruses and malwares at the time of its release. By agreeing to use the software, the client agrees to the terms of its usage and recognizes the purpose for which it has been intended for.
The Government of Mauritius will not be held responsible for any liability whatsoever resulting from the use of the software.
